ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: 

GSC’s  Mission-Critical Technologies Government Services Division is looking for a qualified candidate capable of designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures. Candidate shall provide high-level technical support for voice and data network systems, create, and maintain network documentation, maintain hardware and software standards, and work projects as needed. Candidate shall be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems related to DKET, SNAP, and other SATCOM systems or networks. Candidate will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit the drive and critical thinking necessary to excel in all conditions. 

PRIMARY DUTIES: 

Primarily responsible for the systems engineering architecture, design, development, and integration of the WIN-T network. Involves understanding all user requirements, architecture compliance, key elements, issues, and engineering aspects of the SATCOM AN/TSC 198 VSAT systems. 

>      Knowledge and understanding of current force/future C4ISR networks is required. 

>      Knowledge of DODAF, Integrated Support Plan (ISP) and Support Engineering Plan (SEP). Strong Visio, BPT and presentation skills. 

>      Knowledge and understanding current/future Force tactical and strategic military communications networks, as well as the architecture, protocols, security, network management and physics underlying these systems. 

>      Responsible for the engineering design, installation, operation and maintenance of the WIN-T network. 

>      Support technical tasks in the integration of Data/Voice/Video/Telephony in the WIN-T Network, engineering and technical documentation and assistance in the development of technical requirements, specifications, plans and reports, software/hardware engineering, preparation of independent assessments, systems engineering, technical expertise at fielding locations, test and evaluation, architectural/interoperability support, and quality engineering.

>      Support technology insertion testing relative to emerging WIN-T Networks requirements and capabilities. 

>      Possess in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways and firewalls.  

>      Possess in-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)  

>      Possess strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like Multi-Schedule Private Line Service Tariffs (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Network (VPNs) and Traffic Engineering Duties involve among others, management of local and wide area network, projects, and installation of new devices, system and on-going maintenance of infrastructure. 

QUALIFICATIONS

>     Secret clearance required 

>     Shall have both Security+ and Network+ 

>     Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of communications electronic systems or equipment.

In lieu of a Bachelors, an Associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification (CCNA/CCNP) plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience is required. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 

Position is in Afghanistan with additional travel possibilities up to 100 % with possibility to deploy with Unit to remote locations.

Typical uplifts apply when deployed where applicable (hazard/hardship/cola). 

Medical screening in conjunction with the US Army CRC (CONUS Replacement Center) guidelines.

One position in Afghanistan, One position  in Kuwait

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Global Services and Consulting is looking for a candidate to support the day-to-day end users of tactical satellite systems to include but not limited to SNAP, SWAN, ISA, Micro VSAT, tactical SATCOM radio and WPPL to include Air Force Nuclear Command and Control & Communications Weapon System (AN/USQ-225) nodes, with maintenance and or operational support.
The Contractor will provide onsite support and perform maintenance in the field as required by the Government. In addition, the candidate shall support any 1m to 9m antenna systems. Candidate will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.

PRIMARY DUTIES
Shall have formal operator training for tactical SATCOM systems.
Shall have protocol/Network Theory Experience.
Shall have an understanding, configuration and troubleshooting ability of DMVPN Architecture.
Shall be able to perform routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, RIPand RIP).
Shall have switching fundamentals (Virtual Local Area Network System (VLANS), VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP), Port Security, Spanning Tree).
Shall know Cisco Encryption Concepts within a DMVPN Architecture.
Shall know Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Acceleration over Satellite concepts.
Shall install, operate and maintain Tactical VSAT systems.
Shall install, operate and maintain the SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP) terminal.
Shall install, operate and maintain the Inflatable Satellite Antenna (ISA) terminal.
Shall install, operate and maintain the Micro VSAT terminal
Shall install, operate and maintain the tactical SATCOM radio.
Shall install, operate and maintain the LINKWAY�® Master Reference Terminal (MRT)/Network Controller.
Shall install, operate and maintain iDirect modems or Hub terminals.
Shall configure Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) network for Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN).
Shall install, operate and maintain the WPPL B and D systems.
Shall configure and integrate COMSEC equipment i.e. KG -175D, KG-175 Classic, KG-250X and KG-175E into all tactical SATCOM systems.
Shall manage and maintain telecommunication installation supplies.
Shall maintain daily on-hand inventories.
Shall provide training on tactical SATCOM equipment when required.
Shall configure Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) network modems
Handle other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE 
Shall have two (2) years’ experience operating in a tactical environment operating and maintaining antenna controllers, Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA), Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), Low Noise Block (LNB), up and down converters, Fiber optic/Coax/Ethernet Cable, Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA)/TDMA modems (satellite modems)
Shall have experience and skill with commercial and military satellite acquisition procedures, IP routing and switching, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP), Quality of Service (QoS), Voice and Data – T1/E1, Foreign Exchange Server (FXS), and commercial TDMA/FDMA modems required. Experience with the MRT desired
Shall have experience with Satellite Line of Sight and Near Line of Sight transport methods.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT 
Associate degree, plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in logistics/management, candidate must meet either of the following:
A major certification plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience OR
11 years of recent specialized experience

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: 
Shall have Security +. 
Shall have Network+.
